Change default Download Location in Microsoft Edge

Posted on 2023-05-15

Learn how to change the download location in Microsoft Edge with our step-by-step guide. By default, Microsoft Edge saves downloaded files to the Downloads folder on your account. However, you may want to change this location if you have limited space on your main drive or if you prefer to keep your files organized in a specific folder.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge by clicking on its icon on your desktop or by searching for it in the Start menu.
  2. Click on the "Menu" button (three dots) in the top-right corner of the window and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click on "Downloads".
  4. Click on the "Change" button next to "Download location".
  5. Choose a new location for your downloads. You can select an existing folder or create a new one by clicking on the "New folder" button.
  6. Once you've selected your preferred location, click on "Select folder" to save your changes.
  7. Close the Settings tab to complete the process.
